Irene Victoria Gustafson

Irene Victoria Gustafson passed away peacefully in her sleep in her home at the age of 87 years. Irene was born in the Lacombe area and loved living on the family farm. "Mama Gus" moved to Blackfalds in 1963 and remained there until her passing. She is survived by her children, Eric Gustafson and Coleen (Dave) Douglas; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Audrey (Glen) Whitecotton; and brother, Don (Irene) Risky. Irene was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Martha Risky; sister, Grace Grover; and children, Richard, Francis, Bryan, Clare and Mike. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Blackfalds Community Centre, 4810 Womacks Road, Blackfalds, Alberta on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 1:00pm.

Mama Gus I miss you every minute of every day thank you for always hearing me I still wear the blanket you gave me it feels like a hug my kids try to steal it but I won’t give it up that easy lol I still have my favourite picture of us on my phone and you holding Devin we love you so much I show the boys all the time you are why I do what I do lol I go as Sweden cause I don’t believe in things that are not fair even if I have to use a bat I get things done I hope your proud of me
