Gregory "Greg" Steven Frass

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Gregory Steven Frass on Sunday, July 26, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.

Greg was predeceased by his parents, Louise and George Frass, and his brother, Patrick Frass. He is survived by his sister, Cheryl Kelsch (Mark); his brothers, Tim Frass (Sandra) and Len Frass (Marly); and his daughter, Keandra Frass, and son-in-law, Najib; many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. 

Greg was born to Louise and George Frass on August 2, 1956, in Midale, Saskatchewan. He grew up in Regina as the oldest of four brothers and one sister. He spent his youth delivering newspapers and enjoying life's simple moments. In high school, he found his passion for football, playing for the Regina Rams and Edmonton Huskies, which later grew into his love of the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He spent many summers portaging in northern Saskatchewan, connecting with nature.

Greg attended the University of Regina and graduated in 1981 with a Bachelor of Education in Physical Education and a minor in working with individuals with disabilities. He began his teaching career in the public elementary school system, eventually leading him to teach at Cochrane High School, which specialized its curriculum to prepare students for employment after graduation. Greg found great passion in working with students from communities across the city of Regina while making meaningful connections with like-minded teachers. He retired after 34 years of teaching in 2015.

Greg had a passion for aviation and a love of planes. He began his second career at YQR Airport in 2006, where he worked with WestJet Airlines loading luggage, de-icing planes, and later training new employees. He found immense joy in aligning his passion with his work.

Greg welcomed his daughter, Keandra Frass, into the world on October 15, 1996, who was his greatest pride and joy. He later welcomed his son-in-law, Najib, into the family in September 2025. Greg was a lover of many things, especially Indian food, good music, audio equipment, Star Wars, hot weather, the Riders, and Scotch (the peaty stuff). He made many cherished memories travelling to Oregon and California with his brother Len to visit his close friends and his dear cousin, Stephanie.

Throughout his life, Greg stayed grounded in his trust in Christ. He attended Faith Baptist Church for the greater part of his adult life. He remained devoted in his faith during times of hardship, and in his final days, he found comfort in Scripture.

Greg will be deeply missed by his family and friends and may be remembered whenever a plane flies overhead or when The Beatles come on the radio.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 437 Broadway Avenue East, Regina, Saskatchewan. In honour of Greg, guests are invited to wear jeans and a white T-shirt or other casual attire.
