Joyce Marie Goings

Joyce Marie Goings passed away on July 28, 2011 in Red Deer, Alberta. She is cherished in the hearts and minds of her husband, Richard Goings, her children, Michelle and Kelly White, JoyMarie and Lyle Campbell, and Shawn and Heather Goings, and her nine grandchildren, Sebastian, Danielle, Durrell, Jaida, Marik, Magnus, Derek, William, and Raylee, as well as her parents Alfred and Hannah Matson, and siblings, Dennis and Rachel Matson, Doris and Art Fleming, Wayne and Elizabeth Matson, Cindy and Bob McColm, Myron Matson, Collette Matson, and Jenine Matson.

Joyce worked for many years as a Registered Nurse in Sundre, Alberta, but she cannot be defined so easily. She lived to help other people and to care for her family, forsaking her own dreams along the way in order to be what her family needed. She was a mother, a wife, a grandmother, a sister, a daughter, a teacher, a student, an author, and above all, our best friend. We will forever admire her strength and courage.

One of Joyce’s greatest wishes was for STARS air ambulance to receive the support and funding it needs in order to save the lives of those she loved so well.
