Glen (Rocky) Rockwell

It is with great sorrow that the Rockwell family announces the passing of Glen (Rocky) Rockwell of Surrey, BC at the age of 78, following a cardiac arrest. Glen passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, at Surrey Memorial Hospital in Surrey, BC, on January 28, 2026.

Glen is lovingly remembered by his wife Audrey (nee Schmidt, Pelletier); his son Sean (Kathy), his step-grandchildren, Kate and Alex; his son Dain; his sons’ mother Sandra (Mike) Soul; his stepdaughter Christie Ascencio Chavez, his step-grandson Leonardo; and his stepson Jeffrey (Audrée) Pelletier. Glen was predeceased by his parents Hugh and Lelia (Slough) Rockwell.

Glen was born, November 5, 1947 in Melville, SK.  He grew up in Melville and attended Melville High School, graduating in 1967.

Glen was sworn into the RCMP on April 22, 1968 and retired on August 31, 2005 with the rank of Staff Sergeant, Reg #26617. Following his training in Regina, SK and Penhold, AB, Glen was transferred to the Lower Mainland of BC, E Division, where he served for 37 years in various locations including Vancouver Airport Drug Squad, Immigration and Passport, and in the national security area.

Rocky was a long-time Cloverdale Rodeo and Exhibition chair and multi-decade volunteer beginning in the mid-1970s. He retired from the Board in 2010, inspiring many volunteers over more than 30 years.

Glen was proud to be a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 6, Cloverdale, BC, for 40 years.

Upon retirement, Glen volunteered with the National Association of Federal Retirees and served on the Board in various positions over the years.

At Glen’s request, no service will be held. Interment will take place at the RCMP Cemetery, Depot Division, Regina, SK. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to a cancer charity of your choice, as he had stage 4 lung cancer at the time of his passing. Glen will be lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate to know him and he will live in our hearts forever.

I'm so sorry to learn of Rockys recent passing. We worked together for a number of years in the Immigration and Passport program. He was a "straight shooter", an esteemed colleague and a fine friend. He will be missed; may he rest in peace.Sincerest condolences to his entire family.
