November 25,1939 – February 28, 2026

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma, Gaylene Lange.

Gaylene was born November 25, 1939 in Wapella, SK to Bernard & Agnes (Knuttila) Petays. She was the oldest of two children with her brother Brian.

Gaylene took her schooling in Wapella, SK and Deloraine, MB. She then went to Regina and earned her secretary course. While living in Regina she met John Lange. They were married in 1958.

They had three children, Perry in 1959 and Shelly & Sherry in 1960. They lived in Regina before moving to Calgary and finally Vancouver. Gaylene worked at Safeway in Regina, at BC Place as a clerk and finally the Women’s and Children’s hospital in a clerk position as well. Gaylene retired from the Hospital. After John’s passing, Gaylene moved back to Saskatchewan.

She had a great fondness for cats, loved visiting, crosswords and above all her favorite pastime was reading. Her Church and her faith have always been a mainstay in her life.

Gaylene is survived by her son Perry (Vivian), daughters Shelly Lange-Begley & Sherry Galandie (Jose), grandchildren Angela, Dustin (Dianna), Matthew (Crystal), Alycia (Alex), Shanna, Chrissy, Michael (Kristina), Avery (Stephen), Aurey, Justin, and great grandchildren Elijah, Isiah, River, Rylan, Will, Lewis, Daemon, Dominic, Nevaeh, Faith, Ava, Rocky, Brooklynn, Fiona, McKenna and Clark, sisters-in- law Marion Lange, Rose Zerr, Alvina Mitchell, Maxine Hendry and Marlene Goldsmith.

Gaylene was predeceased by her husband John, parents Bernard & Agnes Petays, brother Brian Petays & wife Linda, son-in-law Joe Begley, in-laws Joe Lange, Irvine & Myrna Lange, Mary & Charlie McNabb, Irene & Jim Cleverly, Gladys Irvine and Verna & Norman Hodel.

Ecclesiastes: 3:1-2

To every thing there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven:

A time to be born, and a time to die.

Donations may be made to the Regina Public Library

And/or to the Faith Baptist Church

A Celebration of life will take place on March 19th, 2026 at 1:00pm, at the Faith Baptist Church, 437 Broadway Avenue, Regina, SK.
