It is with a heavy heart to announce the passing of Wayne Garner on Dec 12, 2024 at the age of 80. He is predeceased by his parents: Frank & Irene Garner and Mary Ann & Carl Basler, brother Ken and spouse Rosemary, brother Tom, sister-in-law Peggy, son Dean and grandson Richard. Wayne is lovingly remembered by his wife Eunice, 2 stepdaughters: Lisa (Mike) Good and grandson Kayden, Julie Rattai and grandchildren Angelica and Daidrick, brother-in-laws Rick (Eleanor), Dave, and Clifford, 2 sisters Linda, Rita (Barry), his son Curtis from a previous marriage to Minnie, daughter-in-law Sandra and granddaughter Abigail, his close friends John & Donna that he did numerous motorcycling trips with, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Wayne was a kind, gentle, and caring man, always wanting to help others in need. Wayne's greatest love was his family and next to that the friends he made at the Regina Senior Center playing pool for the last couple of years. He so looked forward to being there first in the morning so he could get a game or two in and then go for his Wednesday breakfast with Leo and Joanne. He loved to travel and for many years winter getaways were in the motorhome with our Pomeranians dogs down South, along with numerous Caribbean cruises.
Wayne was with the C.P. Rail Police Department for most of his life which he took very seriously and was proud of it. After retiring he realized that it wasn’t for him, as he was bored and decided to drive semi for a company called REMA for numerous years. But the justice system still haunted him. Wayne then became a commissioner and was at the Regina Police station where he was most comfortable and enjoyed what he did.
A gathering in Wayne's honour will take place at 12:00 pm on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the Regina Senior Centre (2134 Winnipeg Street).
