Gustav Jacob Friesen

Gustav went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, while at the Foothills Country Hospice. He was 85 years old. Gus will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Inez; children, Priscilla Crowchild, Rachel (Hartmut) Janssen, Douglas (Grace) Friesen, and Wendy Friesen; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 5 siblings. He was predeceased by his wife, Anna; son-in-law, Elliott; and one brother. A celebration of Gus' life will be held at the at Okotoks Evangelical Free Church (28 Westland Road, Okotoks, AB) on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at 1:30 pm. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at the church from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, with interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gideons Society of Canada (501 Imperial Road North, Guelph, Ontario, N1H 7A2) or the Foothills Country Hospice Society (P.O. Box 274, Okotoks, AB, T1S 1A5).

David and I are sad to hear of Gus's passing. We will always remember him for his kind, genuine love for everyone and his bright beautiful smile. Gus and Ann were gracious hosts to us and gave us tremendous support in our early years of marriage. They even babysat our son Jared a few days a week when I returned to work P/T.
