FLORIS, Jack M.
Jacobus Maria Franciscus Josephus Floris was born on July 30, 1946 in Nieuwer Amstel, Netherlands and passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 in Calgary at the age of 68 years.

He was predeceased by his brother, Jon Floris and their parents and is survived by his brother, Rob Floris and Jon’s daughters of the Netherlands.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Calgary Drop In Centre, 1 Dermot Baldwin Way SE, Calgary, AB, T2G 0P8 (www.thedi.ca/donate) or the charity of your choice. A gathering in his memory will be held at a later date.

I had an office downtown for many years, and having done legal work for Manny when he put Baby Blues together, got to know many of the downtown denizens--including Rick, Ti Mahashi, John Cunningham, to name a few. Jack was one of the old "regulars" and was a waiter at L'Entrecote (I think) early on. One of the Good Guys. Sorry to see him pass. wayne lenhardt

Jack and I worked together briefly at the Amsterdam Hilton when he returned briefly from Canada, got his sports car,and lived the life. Happy times when we both had smiles on our faces. Jack was Jack a character and a real generous soul to us all. My memories are as clear now as the mid 70's when we were together. God speed old friend, see you later. Harry Johnson.
