Ferdinand (Fritz) Gabriel Hungle

Ferdinand (Fritz) Gabriel Hungle passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at the age of 93 just a few days short of his 94th birthday. 

He is survived by his brothers Daniel Hungle (Leona) and Ronald Hungle (Marlene) and sister Eileen Petrun as well as numerous nieces and nephews and friends.  He was predeceased by his wife, Elsie Hungle; parents Joseph and Katherine Hungle; brother,  Edward Hungle; sisters, Teresa Draper, Lorena Bestward, and  Frances Parker.

Fritz was born in Holdfast, Saskatchewan on July 24, 1931.  He lived a full and long life.  Alongside his wife Elsie, they enjoyed a passion for traveling to Arizona for the winters, going to Saskatchewan Roughrider football games, watching baseball and playing golf.  Fritz enjoyed his different areas of work over the years such as delivering bread for Weston's bakery, Greens keeper for Tor Hill Golf course and winter fishing. During his retirement years, Fritz enjoyed time at the farm and working in the field alongside his brother Ronald.

Fritz spent his last 3 years at the Lumsden Heritage Home in long term care.  We thank all the healthcare workers who cared for Fritz over the years but we want to give a special thank you to the staff at the Lumsden Heritage Home who gave Fritz such excellent care and treated him like family.  

A gathering for a celebration of life for Fritz will be held at a later date in September.  Information on the celebration of life will be shared with family and friends at a later date.  In his memory, donations can be made to the Lumsden Heritage Home in Fritz's name.To leave an online message of condolences, please visit xxxxx
