It is with great sadness that we announce the death of JoAnn Engbrecht who passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at the young age of 46 years.

JoAnn will be greatly missed by her loving husband Karl and son Kolton, her children; Courtney (Geoff) Gay, Ryan and Caitlyn Hodge, step daughter; Ashley and precious granddaughter Mackenzie. She will also be missed by her mother Jean Jarvie; sister Cathie (Darren) Mountain and their children Lauren, Megan and Emma. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandmother Pearl Jarvie, along with many extended family members and numerous friends. JoAnn was predeceased by her father Gord Jarvie.

A Celebration of JoAnn's life will be held on Friday, October 10, 2014 at 1:00 pm at First Alliance Church, 12345 - 40 Street SE, Calgary, AB in the Main Sanctuary with reception to follow.

A special thank you to all of the nurses and staff of Unit 47 in Special Services Palliative Care at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CIBC Run For The Cure (team Jogging For Jo) which will continue on in her honour.

Karl, Your Dad phoned us to tell us of the sad passing of your wife, JoAnn. Although we did not know her and haven't seen you for a number of years we felt your parents sadness and wish to extend our sincere sympathy to you Karl, and your little boy Kolton.
