In Loving Memory of Emily Dorianne Braun

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Emily. After battling cancer for over a decade and putting up one heck of a fight doing so, Emily Dorianne Braun passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. Neither our little family, nor life in general, will ever be the same without her.

Emily is survived by her mother, Patricia, as well as Shane and her siblings: Amanda (Brian), Phoenix (Sameh), Peter (Emily), and Ian. She also leaves behind her cherished nieces— Holly, Violet, Alice, Charlotte, Fayrouz, and Remi—whom she adored spoiling as often as possible.

Emily was known for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering positivity. She was wonderfully charismatic and made friends effortlessly wherever she went. She was everyone’s biggest cheerleader, always encouraging and celebrating any accomplishment, no matter how small. She was also incredibly intelligent and a master of learning languages (she spoke English, German and American Sign Language fluently). She loved swimming, her kitties (both owned and stray), the rain, and being at the lake.

We are forever grateful to the incredible palliative care staff at Abbotsford Memorial Hospital, who took such wonderful care of our Emily during the four months she was there. You will always be in our hearts.
