EKSTROM, Francis “Fran”
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Francis May Ekstrom, 76, of Breton, Alberta. She went home to be with her Lord and Saviour, on Monday, May 22, 2017. She will be dearly missed by her husband, Allan; children, Cindy (Tim) Hoffman, Kimberly (Darren) Landy, Dallas (Holly) Ekstrom; 8 grandchildren, Winston, Anthony and Charlotte Hoffman, Christi, Nathan and Elliot Landy, Rachel and Ian Ekstrom; siblings, Phyllis (Bernard) Schoenberger, Gerald (Carol) Gruninger, Gordon (Sandra) Gruninger, and Dennis (Bernice) Gruninger; as well as numerous relatives, nieces, nephews and friends. Francis was predeceased by her son, Peter; sister, Emily; and her parents, Joseph and Amelia Gruninger.
Thank you for the outpouring of kindness shown by so many especially those involved in her care. A special thank you to the staff at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre. Cremation will take place and in honour of Francis's wishes no formal funeral service will be held.
For most of her adult life Francis was an enthusiastic supporter of the Salvation Army and the Stollery Children's Hospital.
