Donald Dominczuk

July 23, 2026

Don Anthony Dominczuk passed away on July 23, 2026. Born and raised in Kitchener, Ontario, he later moved to Toronto with his family before eventually settling in White Rock, British Columbia.

Don was a hardworking, adventurous man with a great sense of humour, a genuine passion for helping people and an amazing dad. He built his career in Human Resources, a field that suited his interest in people and his desire to make a difference in their lives. Outside of work, he loved skiing, sailing, and spending time with family and friends. He was happiest sharing an adventure, enjoying good company, or simply spending time with his daughter.

Don was predeceased by his parents and sister. He is survived by his daughter, Lauren Dominczuk, her mother, Judy McLeod, and nieces Lisa Schuller and Robyn Schuller.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Don’s life on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at Charlie Don’t Surf in White Rock between 1:00 - 4:30pm. In keeping with Don’s social nature and love of good company, the gathering will be casual, with guests welcome to come and go, share stories, enjoy a drink, and watch the Detroit Lions game. Everyone is invited to raise a glass to Don around halftime.

Don will be remembered for his love of adventure, his humour, his dedication to helping others, and the memories he created with the people in his life.

Lauren and family, please receive my most sincere condolences. You don’t know me, but I am the widow of William Derhak, who was a good friend of Don’s when they worked together in Toronto. I hadn’t heard from Don since Bill passed away in 2022. I was thinking of getting in touch, and I didn’t. Now I regret it. I remember his sense of humor, and his intelligence and presence. He used to talk so dearly of you. Keep strong. He’ll always be in your heart.Sonia Derhak

Uncle Don was very kind. Always had a smile ready on his face. He always asked me “How you doin?” in the words of Joey from Friends. It always made me smile. When my sister and I were younger he took us on a pretend safari in his red jeep to look at pretend animals. I will always remember that. He was up for adventure. He took us golfing in B.C, and I remember going sailing on his boat. I will remember him fondly and picture him on his boat sailing away. Love you Uncle Don 🩷

Don was my friend, my mentor, my brother from another mother. From university to skiing to sailing to sharing time together raising our kids. Sympathy to all who knew this good man, he will be greatly missed.

The coolest Dad to my beautiful friend. May he send you signs from where is now. May you feel the love he has left with you always.

I was always so proud to have such a cool uncle. We shared a secret handshake that he never forgot. When Lisa a I were little, I loved when he drove us in his jeep because he would drive us on “adventures” to go on safari or to Hawaii. He would point out the window and exclaim, “look at the elephants!” or “see the zebras!”It was pure magic for a child.Uncle Don was my sponsor when I got confirmed. While in university at McMaster, I naively showed up in Toronto one day hoping to get in to see a beloved band at the Horseshoe. When uncle Don realized I had no plan to safely get back to Hamilton, he generously gave me money for a cab ride back to his house for after the show, and had me sleep over before returning to school the next day. I was successful getting into to see the band.Uncle Don always took a genuine interest in my career, his nieces and my life. He was one of a kind is greatly missed.I’m so sorry for your loss Lauren.

My sincere condolences to Lauren and family. . Cousin Don what a special guy . . So way back in our childhood I remember making family trips to Kitchener quite often but I most remember Don when he was going to Windsor University and stayed with our fam for a bit. It was like he was my fun big brother. We also kept in touch when we both lived in Toronto and I even got to go in a regatta with him and Judy.Even though we didn’t see each other often there was always that bond when we did. Don was just that happy social warm person , you will be truly missed💔

Don was a close and dear friend. I will miss him terribly…heart and soul. Don was kind, warm, and the absolute best listener. He lived life to the fullest. I have many photos of Don in our rogue’s gallery and I always smile when I see him - he was particularly attractive in the pink tutu. Always game for every adventure, he had the most infectious smile and a hearty laugh! Rather than being sad, I’m going to remember him in Dr. Seuss’s words: Don’t be sad it’s over. Be glad it happened!Don, you are missed by many and you’ve left a huge hole in my heart.Lauren, you were lucky to have him as your dad. I’m so sorry for your loss. Much love!
