Albert “Butch” Marshall Desjarlais of Regina, SK passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 after fighting a valiant battle with cancer for 14 years. He died peacefully with his loving family by his side. Butch had an incredible zest for life, a positive attitude and a great sense of humour, his infectious laugh was loved by all. Because of his illness he regretfully retired from the City of Regina after many years of service. Butch was an avid Montreal Canadiens fan, much to the chagrin of some that will be left unnamed. For years he had been volunteering with the Schizophrenia Society of Sask, and was a strong advocate for those living with mental illness. Butch will be sincerely missed by all that knew him.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Regina Wascana Grace Hospice for their wonderful support in his final days.
A Celebration of Butch’s life will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in Sacred Heart Parish, Lebret, Saskatchewan. Interment to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre, Regina Wascana Grace Hospice or the Schizophrenia Society of Saskatchewan.
