Dixie Lynn Derkatch

Dixie passed away with family by her side on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre at the age of 59 years. She will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by one daughter, Sylvia Marie (Chris) Calvé and their three children: Colby (Chelsey), Bailey and Leigha; one son Michael Derkatch and his three children: Ashley (Tony) McLeod, Jared and Paige McLeod; two great grandchildren Oakley and Jagger; two sisters, Pearl (Art) Freeman and Elsie Dorosh; one brother Fred Dorosh as well as other extended family and friends. Dixie is predeceased by her parents Fred and Mary Dorosh; three brothers: Mervin, James and Gerald; three sisters: Ellen, Sylvia and Geraldine. A Memorial Service will be announced in the near future. Memorial donations in Dixie’s memory may be made directly to Potter’s Hands Ministries, 4935 – 51 Street, Red Deer, AB T4N 2A8 or the Canadian Cancer Society, Suite 200, 325 Manning Road NE, Calgary, AB T2E 2P5.

To the Family of Dixie. Please accept my most sincere condolences in the loss of your Mom / Grandma / sister. I worked with Dixie at the North Hill (Quality) Inn, she was a wonderful person to work with. She will be missed by many.

My condolences to Dixie's family and friends, particulary to her son Micheal and his children, Ashley, Jared and Paige, who are my friends. Dixie was a great support to Micheal and her love for him was evident in all she did. Dixie was a great cook, especially her cabbage rolls, they were fantastic. I know Dixie was loved by her family and will be missed by all.
