Walter George Dawson

It is with great sadness that we announce that Walter George Dawson passed away on April 27th, 2016 at Maple Ridge Hospital. He was born in 1922 in Southampton, Ontario. Walter married Joyce in Owen Sound and were happily married for 65 ½ years.

Walter is survived by his wife Joyce of Langley Gardens in Langley, his daughter Carol (Pete) of Comox, on Vancouver Island his son Larry (Mary-Jo) of Port Hope, Ontario, his son Brian (Corrine)and daughter Diane. Walter is survived by many grandchildren Isaiah, Isabella, Luke, Derrick, LaReina, Corey, Darren, Laura, and great grandson Kenneth.

A special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and medical staff of Maple Ridge Hospital for the loving care you provided.

A memorial service will be held at Riverside Calvary Chapel, #8-20178 96th Street, Langley, BC, at 2PM on Thursday May 5th, 2016.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to a charity or organization of your choice.

Deeply sorry for your loss. Big hugs to all. I pray for peace and love for all. Walter was a great uncle. When I was young he took me and sister and brother in. He showed us love and undesirable understanding. I remember the time we went camping and the times we would eat spaghetti. ..he never cared of a mess. Only showed love and the father figure we did not have. He sat by my side when I was sick...reading stories...always there for a hug..thank you Walter love you and always will. IF IT WAS NOT FOR YOU I WOULD NOT BE WHO I AM...

All thoughts and prayers for all who knew Grandpa during this difficult grieving process. We all love a wonderful man. My heart goes out to Grandma, Dad, and all family. I love you all and wish I could join and support everyone during this time.
