Lavina Josephine Dawson

Lavina J. Dawson passed away Sunday, May 5, 2013 at the age of 77 at the Fort Macleod Extendicare.  She was surrounded by family and friends. Lavina was born in Rockglen, SK on April 28, 1936.  She attended school in Rockglen, SK.  In 1957, she married Floyd L. Dawson in Assiniboia, SK and together they resided and raised their family on the ranch south of Killdeer, SK.  In 2001, Floyd and Lavina retired to an acreage east of Fort Macleod, AB. Lavina was predeceased by daughter, Twyla Dawn (1974); parents, Ruby and Lon (Bud) Chilson; brothers, Earl and Gordon; and sisters, Dorothy and Della.  She is survived by her husband, Floyd and daughter, Candace of Fort Macleod, AB; daughter, Shannon (Rick) Fisher of Camrose, AB; son, Cameron (Naomi) Dawson of Redcliff, AB; son, Dallas (Lisa) Dawson of Daysland, AB; 6 granddaughters; 2 grandsons and 2 great granddaughters; brother, Lon (Linda) Chilson of Hardisty, AB and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service for Mrs. Lavina Dawson will be held at the family home near Fort Macleod on May 18, 2013 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm.
