Darryl Dietz
January 13, 2026
It is with great sorrow I announce the passing of my beloved husband Darryl. He is survived by his wife Susan, sons Craig (Lisa) and Brent and grandchildren Kyton, Braylon, Malia and Carter who were the joys of his life. He is also survived by siblings Joan (Bill), Darlene(Ron), Dennis(Glenda) and Linda (Craig), many nieces and nephews, Susan’s family and many great friends. He was predeceased by his parents Carl and Ethel, brother Gary and daughter-in-law Tanelle.
Darryl lived his whole life in Lumsden where he worked for the Department of Highways for 38 years. He loved his job and the years he spent there before his retirement. Everyone knew the winter roads were safe when he was at work.
His last few years were spent in care as he was stricken with Alzheimer’s. I would like to humbly thank the caregivers in the Dementia Unit at Wascana who became our family for the last 4 years, for their compassionate and loving care. They made our days brighter during this part of our journey. Also thanks to the people at Aspen Village Care Home where Darryl spent his last month. Darryl was a quiet man who avoided being in the spotlight so as he wanted there will be no funeral.
"You have my whole heart for my whole life.”
