Darrell Sidney Meier

July 18, 2026

Darrell was born April 13, 1964, in Regina, SK, to Lloyd and Ann Meier. The eldest of 3 children.

He spent most of his childhood growing up in Esterhazy, SK. Here he discovered many of the interests that would shape his life.

From a young age, Darrell found a love for music and anything with four wheels. He spent countless hours playing the drums with his 3 childhood friends. Kiss and Rush were some of his favorite bands. Working on Stock cars and then his own cars, with his dad, became his second passion. He had  a life long appreciation for Dodge and Mopar muscle cars. He enjoyed talking cars with fellow enthusiasts.

Through the years Darrell found peace on the water fishing, and flying Model Airplanes with his children on weekends. He treasured the simple moments spent with family and friends.

Darrell's career reflected his natural mechanical ability and his desire to solve problems. After working a variety of jobs, including time as a baker at Superstore, he pursued what he truly loved. Working on vehicles. He began his career as an automotive technician before transitioning into forklift and heavy equipment repair. There he spent the remainder of his working years. For awhile he enjoyed working at the Regina Airport, where he appreciated being around aircrafts and the aviation industry. Along the way, he built lasting friendships with coworkers and earned the respect of countless customers through his knowledge, honesty, kindness, and willingness to help others.

Darrell shared many important chapters throughout his life. During his marriage to Jennifer, they welcomed four children: Aleah(Jesse), Keanan(Alyssa), Hunter(Kyra), and Noah. His children were a constant source of pride, and he cherished the opportunity to watch them grow.

Later in life, Darrell found love again with Helen Vigo De Juan. Together they built a life filled with companionship, laughter, and family. Darrell lovingly embraced Helard, Helen's son, as one of his own. The family they shared together brought him great happiness. That  last ten years of his life were filled with many of the things he love most: time with Helen and family, fishing trips, playing the drums, and creating lasting memories together.

Darrell's family grew with the second marriage of his mother. Darrell welcomed three step siblings - Geraldine, Gerald and Gary. Along with many nieces and nephews who became an important part of his life. He also shared a special bond with his niece, Jennilee, who was also his goddaughter. Always taking great pride in being her godfather.

Darrell  is lovingly remembered by his wife Helen, his children Aleah, Keanan, Hunter, Noah, and Helard, grandchildren, his brother Glenn(Gill), his sister Linda(Lee), his step siblings Geraldine, Gerald and Gary, and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, coworkers, customers, and dear friends.

Darrell was predeceased by his parents, Lloyd and Ann Meier, as well as his grandparents.

A Celebration of life will be held on August 8th, 2026, at 11:00am, at the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church (1037 Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK, S4P 0N6).
