In Loving Memory of Dan Crosby
Dan found his peace and joined his heavenly family on September 25, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer—a battle he faced like the trooper he was.
We are so grateful for the love, laughter, and memories we were blessed to share with him. His family and grandchildren meant the world to him, and he faced every bump in his journey with strength, courage, and hope. He wanted his family to see that he would never give up the fight.
Dan’s life was filled with the things he loved most: his sons, his grandchildren, his family, and his wife, Juanita, who stood faithfully by his side through all the ups and downs of their journey together. They complemented each other with their unique talents in sales and marketing, both in their personal lives and in their business adventures. In business, Juanita tagged the clients and Dan closed the deal. They shared a passion for their projects and everything they did together, and loved being side by side, whether with family or at work.
They were soul mates for 36 years and were married on June 27, 1992. Their love was everlasting and will always be cherished.
With a heart of gold and a passion for what he believed in, Dan made an incredible impact on the people around him.
Dan found his passion in the cedar wood business and built a career doing what he loved. With the mentorship of Ed Corman, he learned the tricks of the trade. Along the way, the two developed an extraordinary friendship that meant so much to Dan.
In 2013, Dan fulfilled a long-awaited dream when he opened Crosby Cedar Products. He continued doing what he loved, and his remarkable knowledge of the industry served him well. His kindness and willingness to help clients with their projects went far beyond what anyone could expect. Dan could look at a project and figure it out in his head within minutes—a gift that amazed us right to the very end.
Dan was especially proud to see Tanner develop a love for the wood industry and follow in his footsteps. Although Dan could be a tough boss, Tanner would always say, “My dad is the best boss I have ever had.” Dan was proud to share his knowledge and passion for the industry with his son.
Dustin’s exceptional public relations talents were another great source of pride for Dan in the development and growth of Crosby Cedar Products. Dustin’s innovation and ingenuity were appreciated and respected by his dad.
Those who knew Dan understood his passion for music. He was a dedicated and incredibly talented guitar player. Until 2025, he played with the Crosby Harle Band and was grateful for the many opportunities to share his passion with the guys, including special moments on stage with his son Tanner.
Dan was incredibly proud that both of his boys developed a love for music at an early age. Watching Dustin master the drums and Tanner become an accomplished guitar player brought him so much joy.
Guitar was Dan’s thing, but he always recognized Dustin’s exceptional talent, too. Dustin became a great drummer and an amazing photographer and videographer. He often captured the band’s special moments, creating videos and memories that Dan cherished deeply. Dan was so proud of Dustin and loved seeing him share his own passion for music and creativity.
Tanner shared his dad’s love of guitar and songwriting. He had an ear for music and a heart for words, and that made Dan incredibly happy. Tanner would often send his new songs to his dad’s email, eagerly waiting to hear what he had to say. His dad’s approval meant the world to him, and Dan genuinely loved and enjoyed every one of them.
Dan used to say, “Who would have thought at my age, I would still be playing in a band and with my son?” Music was a true passion for Dan, and his rules were simple: practice and play it well.
On his last Father’s Day, Dan had the blessing of celebrating with both of his boys. With Dan and his sons all being dads themselves, it was a special day filled with love, pride, and gratitude—one they will forever treasure.
Dan accomplished many things throughout his life, but he also knew how to find joy in the little things. He loved sharing his amazing cooking with family and friends. He was always a voice of reason, encouragement, and support for those who needed him.
Dan is now reunited with his parents, Ken and Marlene Crosby; his in-laws, Mary and Joe Wild; and his grandparents, Sandy and Dan Maxim, and Mary and Gabriel Crosby. One can only imagine the warm embraces, stories, and conversations they are sharing in Heaven—a place of peace, love, and no more pain.
Dan leaves behind his wife and best friend, Juanita; his sons, Dustin (Jess) and Tanner; and his beloved grandsons, Bear Joseph, Henley, Beckham, and Maverick.
He also leaves behind his brothers, Tom Crosby (Charlene) and their children, Dakota and Darby; and Kelly (Michele) Crosby and his children, Kylee, Dylan, Delaney, and Hunter.
Dan’s family was incredibly important to him. He cherished the time, memories, laughter, and connections they shared throughout his life. His role as a grandfather was one he cherished deeply, and he wore that title proudly.
We like to think Dan is now playing his guitar with the best of them.
We have been blessed to have been loved by Dan, and we are forever grateful to have called him husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
He will be forever loved and missed by his family and friends.
Till we meet again, all our love,
Your family
