Robert Norman Cullen
June 2, 2021
The family is devastated to announce the passing of Robert, a son, a father, a brother, a nephew, a loved one.
He was a hard worker and the more challenging the more he stepped up to get things done. As a young lad Rob learned skills from his Dad, being by his side with building things and working on all kinds of projects.
He learned his creative cooking talents from his Mom, and through the years developed a love of bar-b-cueing and became the official carver of the Christmas turkey.
With Rob, there was no such thing as too many fishing rods. Robert’s great love of fishing began in his younger years when family outings were to Condie Nature Refuge. Through every season and all his years, there were many fishing adventures enjoying the great outdoors with family and friends.
Robert was involved in construction, equipment operations and trucking throughout his career. He was truly the happiest when toiling and working hard on projects.
Sadly, Robert’s well-being was greatly compromised by a debilitating back injury that resulted constant all-consuming pain.
Robert is survived by his parents, Charlie and Susan; his beautiful daughter Lily, his “princess” who brought him so much pride and joy; Lily’s mother Jen; his brothers Rodney and Ryan and their families; and a wide circle of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Robert had a life-long connection with his cousin Shannon, his supporter and friend. The family is forever grateful for Shannon’s care and kindness.
Private family service will be held at a later date.
We will cherish the sweet memories as “the most painful goodbyes are the ones that are never said and never explained”.

We will always remember "Bubs" with fond memories. He was always willing to help even if he had to go against his own word and will, I can remember him telling me he was only moving a rock in our yard once with the skid steer but recanting and ending up moving it 3 times to find the perfect placement in Jody's eyes.
I will always remember the 16 year old boy whom took my 5 year disabled daughter fishing at a fishing farm because she wanted to go fishing. Not only did he take her to were he knew she would catch fish but spent his whole pay-check on it simply because she was having fun.
He will always be remembered in our hearts with the fondness of memories, he will be missed.

We will always remember "Bubs" for his smile, laugh, sense of humour and willingness to help others. When called upon, he eagerly arrived at our house in the early hours of the morning to watch Christina when it was time to head to the hospital to give birth to Kim. He was their favorite "baby sitter" when they were young. Bubs gave new meaning to the phrase "scare the crap out of us" when he threw firecrackers into the outdoor washroom stalls in the Plentywood campground! Rest in peace dear Nephew. We love you, we will miss you and we will always cherish your memory.

Rob was my friend for more than 20 years. He was a very special and important person in my life. I will miss him so very much.
We spent countless days fishing together. He loved to share his knowledge and was a great teacher. We would catch 'em, clean 'em, and cook 'em on the shore. I will cherish those memories always.
I will remember Rob as a sweet and helpful person. He had a good heart. He often went out of his way to do what he could for family, friends, and neighbours.
Rob had a particular ease and playful manner with kids. Every child lucky enough to know him was left smiling and giggling at his silliness with them. Kids brought out the best in Rob.
The love of Rob's life was undoubtedly our daughter Lily. He cherished every moment he had with her. He was in awe of her since the moment she was born, and he always treated her with care and tenderness. Never once in her 16 years did he raise his voice or speak harshly to her. I've no doubt he will be her guardian and angel forever.
I loved Rob and will always carry him in my heart. My deepest condolences to the Cullen and Fulmore families, whom I will always consider my family too.
