Kenneth William Coskey

March 21, 2013

Kenneth Coskey
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our dear father, grandfather and great-grandfather Ken on March 21, 2013 after a short battle with cancer and kidney failure.  Dad was born in Coutts and grew up in Nelson, B.C.  He was an accomplished athlete who played junior hockey and competitive softball and also loved to curl.  Family was important to him and he never turned down a chance to brag about his grandchildren or great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his grandson, Jared and wife, Kathleen.  He leaves to grieve his children, Neal (Brenda), Kathleen (Carey) and Glenn (Jane); his grandchildren, Andrew(Amanda), Graham, Hannah, Christopher (Stephanie), David and Maddison and four great-grandchildren.  The family would like to give special thanks to Drs. Jesperson and Mortis, the wonderful nursing and support staff working at Unit 37 in the Foothills Hospital and the Southwood Nursing Home and the loving and caring palliative support group that saw him through to the end.  We would request that, in lieu of flowers, a donation be sent to either the Canadian Cancer Society, 200, 325 Manning Rd. NE, Calgary, AB T2E 2P5,  or the Canadian Kidney Foundation, 6007 – 1A Street SW, Calgary, AB T2T 0E3.  A Memorial Service will be held at the Centennial Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 285, 9202 Horton Rd. SW, Calgary, AB at 3:00 pm.
