Clint Joseph Martin

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Clint on April 9, 2026, at Surrey Memorial Hospital in British Columbia, Canada.

Born September 8, 1956, in Mumbai, India, Clint made Canada his home in the mid-1990’s. He is remembered by many for his national-level athletic achievements in his youth, his love of animals, and his generosity and willingness to support friends in need.

Predeceased by his wife, Clothilda, brother Howard, and sister-in-law June, Clint leaves behind his brothers Gordon (Heather), Kenneth (Avril) and Donald, his sister-in-law Lorraine and nephews and nieces Roger (Danielle), Adam (Leah), Ethan (Laura), Jordan, Aaron, Kirsten and Donovan.

The viewing, funeral mass and celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, at:

St. Bernadette Church and Parish Hall

Viewing: 3:30 to 4:00 PM

Funeral Mass: 4:00 PM

Celebration of Life: 5:00 PM

Messages of Condolence

I knew Clint from when I was a young girl. Clint was the one who got me into athletics and introduced me to Juhu Sports Club . I was initially the only girl training with Clint and all the Sacred Heart boys . He used to train us at Sacred Heart initially until we then started going to Marine Lines and St Mary’s in the off season . Having lived in Santa Cruz, the Martin boys were a big part of the community and could always be counted upon if anybody was in trouble or needed a helping hand , a place to stay or food to eat . Clint personally helped a lot of young boys, with mentoring as well as financially when needed. Clint was also someone you could turn to if anybody bothered you or bullied you. His larger than life personality with a heart to match, will always be remembered by the very many people whose lives he touched . May Clints soul Rest in Peace. I’ve been a neighbour & friend of Clinty for over 10 years. I felt privileged to run errands and do the occasional shopping for him. He loved me even though mentally & emotionally I could be hard to love. He was one of the most non judgemental & accepting persons I ever knew. I apologize for not being able to attend the last rites. Heartfelt condolences to the Martin family. I had heard a lot about Clint uncle from my dad, Jairam Iyer. When my father suddenly passed away when he was visiting me in Vancouver, Clint uncle, in spite of his limited mobility came to pay his last respects to my dad. This definitely tells a lot about the kind of person Clint uncle truly was. Love and humility were his strong suit. He was a kind hearted human and I remember him telling me about his pugs. So much love in that heart. I want to extend condolences to the Martin family from my uncle Babu and my aunt, Radha as well. May the Almighty give you all the strength to cope with this loss and the void that Clint uncle leaves behind. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers today and always.
