It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Claire Travisee (née Pelletier) on January 12, 2026.
Claire was born on August 20, 1932, in Outremont, Quebec to the late Georges and Mabel Pelletier.
Claire married the love of her life, William “Bill” Travisee in 1956 in Montreal. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised three daughters, creating a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support.
In their later years, Claire and Bill embraced adventure. They enjoyed many cruises together and took endless roadtrips to visit family as well as exploring charming small towns throughout Ontario, as well as Vancouver Island.
Claire was able to deepen her love of baseball when, after retiring, Bill began working part time in the ticket office for the Toronto Blue Jays, where he was affectionately known as “Blue Jay Bill” by family. Together, they spent many joyful hours cheering on the Jays both at the SkyDome and from the comfort of their couch. They were more than just fans, they shared the same enthusiasm and loyalty to the Jay’s as they did to each other, and were able to spend many loving moments sharing their passion with each other.
Claire’s calm and gentle demeanor, warm smile, and genuine kindness allowed her to form lasting friendships wherever life took her. She moved through the world with elegance, quiet confidence and a heart full of gratitude.
Family was at the centre of Claire’s life. She treasured time spent with her loved one’s. She found joy in tending to her beautiful gardens, and relaxing on her patio with a Gin and Tonic in hand or a cold refreshing beer on hot days. She enjoyed listening to music, working on cryptograms, and simply enjoying the peace and beauty she cultivated around herself.
Claire is lovingly remembered by her daughter Susan; her sister Evelyn; her son-in-law Ken Hoogsteen; her cherished grandchildren Ryan, Kristin, Nicole, Melissa and Kyle; her great-grandchildren Carson and William. She was predeceased by her husband Bill Travisee; her daughters, Louise Hoogsteen and Diane Travisee; and her son-in-law, Marvin Brennan.
Claire will be laid to rest this summer at Elmwood Cemetery in Markham, Ontario, where she will be reunited with her husband Bill.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her grace, warmth, and love for her family.
