It is with profound sadness that we announce Cidalia (Cindy) Silva passed away suddenly at the age of 73.
Born in Algarve, Portugal, she was the only daughter of Joaquim and Lucrecia dePalma. At the age of four, she came to Canada, where she built a beautiful life filled with family and friends.
Cindy was the beloved wife of Manuel for 56 wonderful years. She leaves behind her loving mother, Lucrecia; her devoted husband, Manuel; her children, Michael (Michelle) and Jennifer; and her cherished grandchildren, Jayan, Arman, Isabel, Nicholas, and Jack, who were the greatest joy of her life.
She worked as a unit clerk at Burnaby Hospital for over 30 years, retiring to embrace her most treasured role—being a grandmother. She found happiness in simple pleasures, camping trips with family and friends, traveling and cruising with her husband, and meeting for a coffee and a donut with those she loved. Above all, she treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren, leaving behind a lifetime of love and cherished memories.
Cindy will be remembered as a deeply devoted daughter, a loving wife, a caring mother, and a proud grandmother. Her love and kindness will live on in all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday May 8th at 12:00 p.m. at the Croatian Cultural Centre, 3250 Commercial Drive, Vancouver. The family asks that in lieu of flowers to please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
