In Loving Memory of Christiane Soucy

1965 - 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christiane Soucy, wife, grandmother, sister, friend, and a mother in all the ways that truly matter.

Christiane leaves behind her husband, Mario Boudreault; her children, Cynthia and Jessy Boudreault; her cherished granddaughter, Katherine; and her sister, Linda Soucy.

Christiane’s love and care extended far beyond the family she was born into. She was the kind of person people simply found their way to. Whether it was colleague’s who became life long friends, neighbourhood kids years ago or those same kids returning to her as adults, Christiane was someone you could turn to—for advice, for support, or simply for a place where you knew you belonged.

Along the way, Chris, Pascale, Joel, Samuel, Laura, and Tyler became much more than kids who happened to find their way into her life. They became family. Christiane loved them as her own, and they loved her as a mother.

Proudly Québécoise, Christiane held a deep love for her culture and her language, something that remained an important part of who she was throughout her life. She loved a good card game, treasured her friendships —community and was the kind of friend you could count on.

Christiane, a wonderfully stubborn woman. Stubborn in the way she loved, in the way she cared, and certainly in the way she gave advice. She wouldn’t be pushed into picking sides, but she would always be there when it mattered. She had a way of keeping everyone connected. Bringing people together, holding them close, and reminding them that they were family. She was the steady presence at the heart of it all.

Of all the roles Christiane held in her life, being a grandmother brought her immeasurable joy. Her granddaughter, Katherine, is and always will be the light of her life. She adored her completely, and the bond they share was something truly special.

Christiane was predeceased by her parents, David Soucy and Fernande Boily, and her brother, Robin Soucy.

Christiane leaves behind more than memories. She leaves behind a family that extends well beyond blood, friendships that lasted through the years, and countless people who were better for having had her in their lives.

For so many, Christiane was the person they turned to. The one who brought people together, made room for everyone, and kept those she loved close. Her absence is felt deeply, but the family she built around her will carry her love forward.

En mémoire de Christiane Soucy

C’est avec le cœur lourd que nous annonçons le décès de Christiane Soucy, épouse, grand-mère, sœur, amie bien-aimée et une maman dans tous les sens du mot, même pour ceux qui ne partageaient pas son sang.

Christiane laisse dans le deuil son époux, Mario Boudreault; ses enfants, Cynthia et Jessy Boudreault; sa précieuse petite-fille, Katherine; ainsi que sa sœur, Linda Soucy.

Christiane donnait son amour et prenait soin de bien plus que sa famille immédiate. Elle était de ces personnes vers qui les gens se tournaient naturellement. Que ce soit les jeunes du quartier ou ces mêmes jeunes devenus adultes, on savait qu’on pouvait toujours revenir vers Christiane — pour un conseil, pour du soutien, ou simplement pour retrouver un endroit où l’on se sentait chez soi.

Au fil des années, Chris, Pascale, Joel, Samuel, Laura et Tyler sont devenus bien plus que des jeunes qui ont croisé son chemin. Ils sont devenus sa famille. Christiane les aimait comme les siens, et eux l’aimaient comme une mère.

Fièrement Québécoise, Christiane avait un profond attachement à sa culture et à sa langue, qui ont toujours occupé une place importante dans sa vie. Elle aimait les jeux de cartes, chérissait ses amitiés et était de ces amies sur qui l’on pouvait toujours compter.

Christiane avait aussi tout un caractère. Ça se voyait dans sa façon d’aimer, de prendre soin des autres et, bien sûr, de donner ses conseils. Elle refusait de se laisser entraîner à prendre parti, mais lorsqu’on avait besoin d’elle, elle était là. Christiane était celle qui rassemblait les gens, qui gardait tout le monde uni et dont la présence faisait qu’on se sentait véritablement en famille.

Parmi tous les rôles qu’elle a occupés au cours de sa vie, celui de grand-mère lui apportait un bonheur immense. Sa petite-fille, Katherine, était la lumière de sa vie. Christiane l’adorait de tout son cœur, et le lien qui les unissait était profondément précieux.

Christiane est partie rejoindre ses parents, David Soucy et Fernande Boily, ainsi que son frère, Robin Soucy. 

Christiane laisse derrière elle bien plus que des souvenirs. Elle laisse une famille qui va bien au-delà des liens du sang, des amitiés qui ont traversé les années et d’innombrables personnes dont la vie a été plus belle parce qu’elle en a fait partie.

Pour tant de gens, Christiane était celle vers qui on se tournait. Elle était celle qui nous gardait tous unis.

Elle nous manquera profondément.
