John Cherwak

John Cherwak of Regina, Saskatchewan passed away peacefully on August 21, 2023, at the age of 93.

He is predeceased by his wife Roberta, parents and two sisters. John is survived by his two daughters Joy Parker Cherwak (Brad) of Good Spirit, SK, and Gay Lynn Young (Barry) of Regina. Grandchildren Christina Lasko (Trent), John Young (Jamie), both from Regina, and one Great Granddaughter, Aliyah Lasko.

Dad's childhood was in Bankend, Saskatchewan, then moving to Regina and most recently, Yorkton, Saskatchewan (Bentley). Dad started a long career (40 years) with the CPR starting when he was 18 years old until 58 years old in telecommunications most of which being in Regina.

Dad's priority was always his family and we all knew this each and every day. Dad will be deeply missed by all of us.

Being of Ukrainian descent, he would want us to raise our glass and remember a life well lived in every aspect of his life!

A special thank you to the Yorkton Bentley for dad's care in the last two years and most recently, the Wadena hospital.

At our Father's request there will be no funeral.

The best times ever with both John & Roberta were had at Clearview. The Clearview group had many gatherings for potlucks, happy hours, golfing, singing, dancing & story telling. Wonderful lifelong friendships were made. A toast to both John & Roberta!

I'm so sorry to hear the passing of your father. I worked for several years with your Mom at the school board office so got to see your Dad from time to time to at staff get togethers.
