Messages of Condolence

My deepest condolences to the Chan family. Richard's energetic and optimistic view towards lives will always be remembered in all his friends heart. ~ Carmichael Kan

Richard has been a loyal member of our badminton team. Whenever he had time, he showed up with a suit case that holds badminton gears. He was also a loving husband who always put his wife well being as priority. I am so blessed to know him but sad to lose him. RIP brother Rick. ~ Richard Fan

Dear Sylvia, Please accept our condolences to the passing of your father! Richard was our great friend of many years both in the circle of his loved sport of badminton as well as in group dining out. Richard and I had a lot in common. Both of us rose from humble background through shear hard work and determination to succeed. We both studied in HK Technical College. We both received trainings from large German firms. We both worked for large companies. At our old age we both played badminton. Coincidence? Perhaps! But I would like to call it an opportunity for me to associate with a special person. I was honoured to have met him. Richard had a sense of justice, not scared of speaking his mind. Opinionated but spoke with knowledge and neutrality. His dedication to his family was unprecedented especially to his semi handicapped wife whom I call 亞嫂!taking her to travel round the world going for walk on the West Dike, getting take out lunch and dinner. What a guy! We will all miss him! May him rest in peace! ~ Denny Chan
