Carolyn Claire Forster
1967 – 2026
Carolyn Claire Forster, age 59, passed away on October 18, 2026, in Chilliwack, British Columbia. Born and raised in Montreal, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Claire Forster and grew up in a family of seven children. She spent many years raising her family in Truro, Nova Scotia, before returning to Montreal and eventually making her home among the natural beauty of British Columbia.
Carolyn loved wholeheartedly. She felt things deeply, and though life and relationships were not always simple, her love for her family endured across distance and time.
Carolyn’s greatest joys and proudest accomplishments were her three children: Ryan (Samantha), Courtney (Nicole), and Stacy (Andrew). They went on to make her a proud Grams to eight cherished grandchildren: Olive, Easton, Emmett, Charlie, Rémi, Everly, Emeric, and Emil. Together with her surviving brother, Larry, extended family, and many friends, they carry forward her memory and the lasting impression she made on their lives.
Creative by nature, Carolyn loved sewing, crafting, decorating, music, and animals. She had a passion for gardening and a keen eye for beauty—both indoors and out. She possessed a special gift for transforming ordinary spaces into warm, welcoming homes, filling them with her creativity and personal touches.
Creating was one of the ways Carolyn expressed herself, a passion she maintained throughout her life. Right up until her final days, she was crafting handmade gifts for her grandchildren, hoping to leave “a little piece of Grams with them.” Her homemade pizza, chocolate fudge cake, and famously late family dinners will be fondly remembered.
The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to Fraser Health and the compassionate staff at Chilliwack General Hospital for their kindness, care, and support during Carolyn’s final days.
In keeping with Carolyn’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. Her family will gather privately to celebrate her life at a later date.
Carolyn was deeply spiritual and often reflected on life’s meaning and what might come after. Her family finds comfort in imagining her reunited with those she loved, including her mother, Claire; her brother, Wayne; her four older half-brothers; and the many family members, friends, and beloved fur babies who went before her.
Rest peacefully, Carolyn. You touched our souls, and we will never forget you. Until we meet again.
