CARLSON, Gordon Eric
April 20, 2017 Gordon Eric Carlson left to live forevermore with his Lord and Savior He fought a long and often difficult battle with Cancer. In spite of many hospital stays he remained steadfast in the desire to stay in his home for the final days and that he did, I held him in my arms till the end,Gordon knew that that his last breath here would mean his next breath was in his Eternal home, such Victory
Gordon was born on the family farm in Sask on Jan 5, 1930 to his parents George and Martha, youngest of nine children, all of whom predeceased him.
Gordon farmed with his brother Elmer for sixteen years, in 1970 he moved to Calgary to be a very successful salesman for Cedar Log Homes. Gordon was bitten by the “ Old Car Bug “ from which he never recovered, this became his passion, cars, trucks, motor homes...covered a lot of ground finding these old cars, many he restored to original beauty others a good cleaning , few repairs and out the door they went, his most favored group was the Mustang of which he bought and sold ninety
In these travels he fell in love with Arizona where he and his friends developed Apartment Buildings , we moved down for near three years, huge adjustment to be so far from our home but as per Gordon , he rose to the challenge, eventually moved back to Calgary but never quit spending time in Arizona except had to give up for the last two years which was hard for him....
When the yard and outdoor chores became too much our Neighbors Brian and Kerry just took over and lifted that burden, Gordon hated not being able to do for himself but thanked God daily for these wonderful and neighbors and Grandson Dexton who seem to be on speed dial for many reasons.
Gordon leaves behind Joy and their two grown children, Blair ( Leslie ) children Dylan and Deanna, Julie ( Cal ) children Derek , Chelsea and Aaron
He was happy to welcome four Great grand children into his life.
Gordon will be missed by his wife Joan and her sons Shaun ( deceased) and Gregg/ Pat , Devon/ Denise and Grandchildren, Mike, Bo, Clayton and Dexton
