Dick was born in 1923 and passed peacefully from this life into the presence of his Lord and Saviour on March 10, 2020.

Dick is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Rita, his daughter Colleen (Peter), sons John (Catherine), Frank (Susanne), and Ken (Wendy), 13 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren, 3 sisters in the Netherlands and many nieces and nephews. He loved his family deeply.

A memorial service will be held Monday, March 16 at 2:00 PM at Fleetwood Christian Reformed Church.

We want to extend our gratitude to Dr. B. Toews for his outstanding care over many years, and to the staff at the Emerald at Elim for caring for Dick so well these last months as he faced many health challenges.

Dear Byl Family, We are so sad to have just learned of your father's passing. If anyone of you remember us, the de Hoog family of Sumas Washington, please send me and email. I was the middle daughter, Geraldine. My dad, Gerrit was a lifelong friend of your dad and just learned of his passing from your mom, whom he was able to talk with a little by phone. My dad would be so grateful to hear a little more news of your family. Gerrit still lives alone on a little farm in Sumas. Our mom, Dingetje passed away many years ago, and our only brother, Jasper as well. I hope to hear from you. Geri
