January 27, 1947 – December 30, 2015

Cynthia passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the age of 68 years. Cynthia was born and raised in Pembroke, ON. There she met her life partner, Keith, whom she later married in 1969. After moving to Ottawa, she worked as a secretary until their daughter, Roxanne was born. Shortly after, they decided to relocate to Calgary, AB where their two sons, Jason & Derrick, were later born. Once they relocated to Airdrie, she worked as a day home provider, school bus driver and later finished off her career as a credit secretary at Shell Canada. Her passions included spending time with her family, entertaining, collecting recipes, reading, and spending time at Lake Koocanusa.

Cynthia will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Roxanne (Daniel); son, Jason (Angela); son, Derrick (Lindsay); 8 beautiful grandchildren, Isabella, Leighton, Rayne, Alexander, Juliana, Ireland, Clara, and Levi; as well as her siblings, Jeannette, Suzanne (Keith), and Jerry (Beverly). She is predeceased by her father, Lawrence; mother, Alice (nee Gendron), and her husband, Keith.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 1305 Main Street, Airdrie, AB on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at 1:00 PM.

Dear Roxanne (and family), it is with great sadness that I hear of your Mom's passing, and I would like to express my most sincere sympathy to you and your brothers for her loss. Cindy will remain in my heart as one of the nicest, genuine person I have had the pleasure of knowing. She was a treasure and her positive aura will be missed by all of us. I will always cherish my time working at Shell with your Mom; she may have been "petite" in stature, but she had a huge heart and presence at work. She made all our jobs so much easier. Cindy and Keith were a huge part of our lives. They are considered part of our family. Cindy loved her family and enjoyed entertaining. Her smile always lit up the room. We met Cindy and Keith when we first moved to Alberta and she welcomed us with open arms. We will miss our daily talks and texts and we know she is no longer in pain and with her true love Keith. My deepest sympathy. I had the pleasure of working with Cindy for many years at Shell. She had a way of getting things done always on time and always exactly how you needed it, even if you hadn't figured out how you needed it yet. She was usually one step ahead. We had some great laughs together and she always had great stories about the grandkids and many wonderful pictures of them that she shared. She was truly a wonderful person.

My life was enriched by getting to know Cindy. We shared stories of our lives while driving in the car every morning for a year, as we drove to work. She talked about her children with great enthusiasm and love. She cherished her children and grandchildren.
