It is with great sorrow that the family of Andrew Mark Buchanan announce his passing at the age of 90. Andy will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 67 years, Grace Buchanan. Born in Birnie, Manitoba. Residing in the Red Deer area since 1975. Honourably served our country in WW2 with the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry 1942-1945. Andy was predeceased by a daughter, Donna Lynne Buchanan. Survived by his sons, Blair (Jackie) Buchanan, Ron (Darcy) Buchanan; daughter, Debbie (Wes) Neal; grandchildren, Tanus Smith, Melissa (Erik), Alyson, Andrew and Brittney Buchanan, Jason and Jeffery Neal, Bryce Buchanan; great grandchildren, Ashleigh, Joshua, Brandon and Sylis Smith as well as our newest Gift Vincent Bruce Aguilera. At Andy's request, no Funeral will be held.

The first day of moving our mom (Freda Henry) into Michener, the first person I met was Andrew, zipping down the hall in his scooter. I loved his positive attitude and enjoyed giving him a hug every time I was there. He was such a great character and I will certainly miss seeing him when I visit my mom. My deepest condolences to you all. He was a favourite with all my siblings.

My sincere condolences to you all. I only knew Andy from Michener Extendicare, where he lived down the hall from my mother. I fell in love with Andy the first day I met him. Such a lovely, gentle and funny man. He was always happy to receive a hug and I was so happy to give him one. I so enjoyed his spirit and the love of his family. I had the honour to meet Andrew just over one year ago. He was the first resident I met when my Mom arrived at Michener centre. I enjoyed chatting with him each week that I visited Mom. His sense of humour and wit were wonderful. Rest in peace Andrew ; I will remember you.
