Bruce lived life on his own terms, with strong opinions, an independent spirit, and a softer side that those close to him had the chance to know.
He could be thoughtful, generous and good company. He could also be stubborn, and his family and friends will have their own stories about that. His life had its struggles, but it also held laughter, friendship and love.
Bruce leaves his sons, Dorian and Shawn (Sally); his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brother, Bill; his sister, Kathy (Brian); his sister-in-law, Loretta; and his niece and nephews.
After Bruce moved from Saskatchewan to British Columbia, watching the Riders with Dorian became a familiar pleasure they shared. Shawn joined in from afar, watching the game and calling at halftime or afterwards—a game, some company, and plenty for all three to have an opinion about.
His Regina friends will remember the house parties and the Plains, where the opinionsflourished and the game was shuffleboard.
Our family is grateful to the friends, neighbours and others who offered companionship and practical help, particularly as his health declined.
At Bruce’s request, there will be no service. Those who knew him are invited to remember him in their own way—share a story or raise a glass in his memory.
