Kayla Magen Brown

Kayla Magen Lomas Patterson (Brown) – Dec. 5th, 2023, Age 42.

It is with broken hearts we must share that we have lost our beautiful Kayla in a terrible car accident. 

Kayla was a loving mother, daughter, sister, auntie and friend to so many. Kayla’s 2 daughters, Tarra and Lexus Lomas were the absolute center of her universe. Her daughters were her pride and joy. Kayla spent her life in and around Langley Township. One of the greatest passions of her and the girls was Synchronized Figure Skating. Kayla first took to the ice at age 4 with the Aldergrove figure skating club and spent many, many years growing up there. Once her girls got started skating Kayla’s passion was reignited. She could be found most days at the rink with the girls and their teams. Kayla was team manager and team Mom to so many, always making sure everyone was looked after and no one ever went hungry. She also went back to skating on her adult teams and was happiest on the ice. Lower Mainland Synchronized Skating Club became another large part of her skating family.

Kayla had a number of different careers and the last few years she worked in film. She loved the casts and crews she got to work with. The long hours never bother her as she was a hard worker and loved what she was doing.

Kayla packed a lot of life into her short time here and most of it with her girls. From Europe trips with the girls and their schools to many trips all over Canada for skating competitions. Vacations to California with her former spouse Rob Lomas & her in-laws for more family. She spent many years of her youth traveling across Canada with her family on West Coast Amusements. Many hiking and camping trips on Vancouver Island with her grandmother.  Road trips and camping with friends.

Kayla had a smile that could light up any room she entered. She had a huge personality and a heart to match. She will be so missed by so many. All of us that knew her know there will never be another Kayla.

Kayla is survived by daughters, Tarra and Lexus, Mother, Bunny Waddell (Graham), Sister, Becca Hargreaves (Andrew), Brother Jay Patterson (Kim) former spouse Rob Lomas, Grandmother, Carole Waddell, FIL, Kenneth Lomas, SIL, Stacey Lomas (Cisco), 7 beautiful nieces, many uncles, aunts, cousins and of course the cats, Nala, Norman, and Nora. Predeceased by her father Floyd Patterson, and sister Deborah Richman.

As per her daughter’s request Kayla will be laid to rest with a small family internment. There will be a celebration of Kayla’s life in January for her many family and friends. Time and place to be announced when it is confirmed.

You my beautiful girl have left a hole that can never be filled. We love you so much.
