Ed was born in Canora Saskatchewan on September 15, 1943. He then grew up in the Rama and Hazedell area until he met Gladys Suchaboki and were married in 1962. Ed then worked with his Dad (Mike) on the CN for a few years and before moving from Rama to Regina. Ed tried his hand at a few different things and worked for a few different companies before he then went to work for Sterling Crane Rentals as an operating engineer. There he met George C. Solomon who became his mentor and idol, the relationship turned into a lifelong friendship. This friendship was a relationship that would not waver; they were two peas in a pod. George assisted Ed in getting started in his own successful company “Ed’s Crane & Demolition” where Ed enjoyed the rest of his working years and retired at their farm just south of Regina Beach. Ed really enjoyed farm life with all his animals, especially his K9 companion Sparky. Ed and Gladys later then moved to Bethune Sask. Ed also loved watching Hockey when he wasn’t coaching it and also was a big Riders fan.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Regina Wascana Grace Hospice for their excellent care given to Ed during his time there. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Ed may be made to the Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, 50 Angus Road, Regina, Sk., S4R 8P6.
