Brenda Kathleen Vogt

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Brenda Kathleen Vogt on Monday, March 30, 2026 at the age of 76.

Born on November 16, 1949, Brenda was raised on the family farm in Odessa, Saskatchewan. From a young age, she developed a deep love for sports and competition, participating in softball, broomball, curling, and track and field. Her passion for sport continued well beyond her school years, particularly her love of curling and softball, which remained a part of her life for many years.

After leaving Odessa, Brenda set her sights on new opportunities in Regina. She completed an accounting course and went on to work in bookkeeping and accounting for several years.

Her true calling, however, was caring for children. Brenda had a deep love for children and spent many years fostering and babysitting, continuing this meaningful work until just nine months before her passing.

Brenda had a spirited personality and a love for fun. Strong-willed, feisty, and fiercely independent, she embraced life fully and on her own terms. She enjoyed playing shuffleboard and darts, where her competitive spirit shone through and she was the proud recipient of many league championships. Whether in sport or leisure, she always brought energy, determination, and a sense of fun, often with a drink in hand and laughter close by. She was a devoted Saskatchewan Roughriders fan who loved attending games and cheering on her team with unwavering loyalty. Elvis Presley held a special place in her heart—she loved to sing along to his music and had a deep appreciation for the country music of the 1950s and 1960s, which brought her great joy.

In the quieter moments, Brenda found peace in her garden. Each summer, her yard would come alive with colour, often filled with hundreds of carefully tended flowers—a reflection of her energy and pride. Above all, Brenda was an animal lover. Over the years, she cared for many beloved pets, most recently Mugsy, Kahlua, and Oreo, who were constant companions and sources of comfort.

Brenda was predeceased by her parents, Sylvester and Mary Vogt (nee Wild); her infant sister, Marlene Anne; and her sister-in-law, Donna Vogt.

Family was at the heart of Brenda’s life. Though she did not have children of her own, she shared a close and meaningful bond with her siblings, their spouses, and her many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom were very dear to her. Along with her cherished friends and relatives, they formed the extended circle of love and connection that meant so much to her.

She is lovingly remembered by her siblings:

Bernice Webster (Garry), and their children Chad Webster (Jennifer), great nieces Paytyn and Julia, and Kerri Martin (Chris), great nephew Conway and great niece Cobie.

Jim Vogt (Darlene), and their children Brent Vogt (Jenna Uhrich), great nephews Vincent, Alex and great niece Victoria, Cody Vogt (Jamie), and Stefanie Horvath (Byron), great niece Isla and great nephew Bowen;

Neil Vogt, and his daughter Lindsay Muchowski (Jason), great nieces Katelyn, Emily and great nephew Lucas;

Ted Vogt (Phyllis), and their children Tyler Vogt (Andrea), Trevor Vogt, Tanner Vogt (Amy), great nephew Ryder and great niece Lakyn;

and Elizabeth “Liz” Vogt.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in Odessa, Saskatchewan. Interment will take place at a later time with immediate family in Holy Family Cemetery, Odessa, Saskatchewan.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Regina Humane Society (reginahumanesociety.ca), or donations can be made in memory of Brenda to the Pasqua Palliative Care Unit, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK, S4T 1A5.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt and sincere gratitude to the staff of Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, Unit 3B, and the Palliative Care team at Pasqua Hospital for their exceptional care, kindness, and compassion.
