Bregita Mary Spanier (nee Hehn)

October 8, 1926 – March 16, 2026

Just months shy of her 100th birthday our beloved mother Bregita peacefully passed.

She is predeceased by her husband John W. Spanier, her parents John and Elizabeth (nee Czemeres)Hehn and her many siblings.

Bregita will be lovingly remembered by daughter Veronica (Rex) Schultz, sons Garry (Arlene) Spanier and Ken (Bev)Spanier. Grandchildren Jeff, Jay, Michael, Ryan, Sheena and Janesse. As well as eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She will also be remembered by her good friend Helen Gartner.

Bregita was born and raised on the Hehn family farm in the Kronsberg District of Dysart, Sk. She then met and married John, and they raised their 3 kids on the Spanier family farm, in the Kronsberg District.

Mom loved to garden, bake, knit, and sew. Mom worked at Hanson Hardware in Fort Qu’Appelle for 18 years before retiring and moving to Vernon, British Columbia where she had lived for many years. During that time, she joined the Schubert Center where she enjoyed having coffee with her friends and running the craft store. In 2016, she returned to Saskatchewan.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff at Silver Heights Nursing Home in Raymore, Sk., for their compassionate care. We will especially miss the monthly tea parties and entertainment mom so enjoyed.

A private interment to follow.

Messages of Condolence
