Keaton Bradley

I met Keaton about five years ago. My first impression of him was that he was a quiet, soft spoken man. As I grew to know him better, he became more talkative and I quickly learned that he was a well travelled, extremely smart man with a memory better than most (especially for his age)! As the years past I got to spend more time getting to know him particularity through family gatherings which he loved. The man who always greeted me with a big hug and a large smile was constantly cheerful but appeared to be happiest when he was with his family. He truly loved his kids and his grandkids and often spoke with pride about their many accomplishments and giggled about some of their mishaps. As he grew older, he became more frail (like most elderly people) and never wanted to be a burden to anyone. How could someone so special be a burden? He was loved so much and by so many. Family and friends offered a helping hand, but this was a man full of pride and didn’t want to put anybody out. He was the man who helped other people by taking them to appointments and visiting them regularly. He was such a kind man who cared deeply about the well being of others. I was lucky enough to host Keaton at my house for the past two Christmases. I hope he enjoyed these times as much as my family and I did. For my kids he was like another grandfather and they enjoyed his company. We all have regrets in life. One of mine is that I didn’t pay more attention when he was talking because he had a lifetime of knowledge and many humorous and interesting stories to share. I also regret not recognizing how ill he was, but that was Keaton, a proud man, a gentle soul who never complained. It took us all by surprise how quickly he passed, and my hope is he didn’t suffer. The last thing I said to Keaton was “I love you” and he responded with the same…….I will forever remember that. Keaton, you are missed on this day (your birthday) and will be constantly missed. Very sorry to learn of Keaton's passing. I had the pleasure of working with Keaton in Russia, and on several projects in Canada, and learned to value his knowledge and experience. he was a good companion on one memorable field trip with my son. I also learned to enjoy his quick wit - we had a lot of laughs. Work took us on different paths the last few years, but we enjoyed his occasional visits to the office to catch up. Gonna miss him.

I worked with Keaton in several countries while with PetroCanada. He was a lot of fun, a pleasure to work with and I'm glad he had a long retirement. My deepest condolences to his family.
