Denice Bougie

Denice Bougie from Port Coquitlam passed away at the age of 63. She was diagnosed with Bile Duct Cancer a couple of years ago and did everything she could to battle the cancer that eventually took over her body never her spirit. She was comfortable and at peace with her family by her side at the time of her passing at Crossroads Hospice in Port Moody on November 30th at 8:45 PM

Denice was born in 1955 in Vancouver with her parents George and Ella (Miller) Mihoiluk. Growing up in South Vancouver Denice excelled in academic subjects. She skipped two grades before eventually being recruited by the Churchill School for the gifted. She became fluent in French and moved to Montreal to complete her High School Diploma. After graduation Denice returned to Vancouver to attend the University of British Columbia. In 1977 she graduated with honours with a bachelor of commerce in urban land economics. Shortly after she was married to her surviving husband Norman Bougie. Six years later in 1983 they had their first child Ryan Bougie. Their daughter Chantal Bougie was born 2 years later. Denice always put her family first and was the best mother any family could ever of asked for.  She ensured her children were well equipped to take on the challenges of the world and was always their biggest fan. She travelled the world and worked hard at everything she undertook. Her greatest joy later in life was the birth of her two grandsons Hunter and Jack from Sean and Chantal (Bougie) Zubor. Her dog Beau gave her un wavering companionship and laughs. She greatly anticipated the wedding with her son Ryan to Marie Blouin. In her last will and testament Denice made a large donation to help children in need.

Denice will be cremated and then laid to rest at Valley View Cemetery in Surrey with her immediate family in attendance. Her family is planning a celebration of life on Dec. 15th at 3 PM at their residence in Port Coquitlam.

Her family will forever carry her strength and energy in their hearts and minds. In lieu of flowers it is asked that you consider a donation to the Salvation Army or the BC Cancer Foundation.
