Victor Leo Bias

We have so many great memories shared with you Vic. Lots of great belly laughs, lots of outdoor fun at the cabin, kayaking in your hand made kayak made by you was always a blast. Sitting around a camp fire enjoying our favorite camp fire drink "The Buddy." Yum!! Appreciating all the fine crafts you made. We miss you so much and you will never be forgotten. RIP

Mostly when I think of Vic, fond memories of our childhood in England spring to mind. Willing or not he would almost always take me along on adventurous days out, often with a red rover bus pass that would allow us to sightsee the whole of London in a day, if we wanted to. And when he met Nancy and moved to Canada to be with her, I moved to Holland to be with Frans, a Dutchman Vic had met on his motorbiking tour around Europe. In all the years since we have watched our families grow, and when problems arose Vic was always ready to help and advise. He was so far away yet so dear to us all. To my daughters Jasmine and Jolanda (and Mischa), and my grandsons Kai, Nick and Rodin. He had a warm place in all their hearts, as he always will have in mine. Sometimes life really is too short, but thankfully we do have our memories in which we can relive cherished moments. All our love to you Vic, and to Nancy, Nadia and Leona, Angel and Penny. We will always remember Vic’s laugh and sense of humor. We had many great conversations with him and loved his generous spirit. Trips to the cabin were always an adventure and quite memorable. Nancy, we hope you find peace with the passage of time, and comfort in knowing that there are people like us who care so much about you. He will be missed but not forgotten.

I met Vic while working at CVAM with Nancy. The four of us hit it off right away. Vic and my husband Rolf, were part of the Board of Director’s at the music school. For many years Vic helped Rolf with events by BBQing for 200 plus people each year. Vic was always happy to help and gave many great ideas on how the school should be run. Vic had a big heart and if O asked for help at an event, he would be there if he could. This lasted for close to 30 years. It is with great sadness to write these words knowing he will be greatly missed. Our condolences go out to, Nancy, Nadia, Leona, Angel and Penny, and the rest of the family. Nancy, so sorry for your family’s loss. You and Vic were a important part of the Fraser Valley Woodturners Guild for so many years. Vic did an excellent job of keeping the secretaries notes of all our meeting. Including the crazy world of Zoom which Covid forced on us all. It was always fun when Vic would unmute himself to speak and forget to mute himself after and we all listened in to his conversations with you and his daughter trying to figure out this Zoom world. He will truly miss, and your a member who was doing some Woodturning so we hope to see you in awhile. If you need anything, let us know, we would be glad to help. Gary.

We will always remember Vic's jolly bearded smiles and his British sense of humor. We enjoyed all of the crazy cabin stories and long chats about airplanes and motorbikes. Nancy, Vic's spirit will always be with you, look for the signs and cherish them. RIP

It has been a huge loss to have heard the very sad news that Victor had passed away. I have known Victor since we were at school together, as he was in the same class as my younger brother. We grew up together, and we were both crazy about motorcycles. I remember the day I last saw him in when I was working on my car in Manor House, North London where I then did live. He was with Nancy, and then he left to go to Canada. He found me via the internet, so many years later, and we reconnected again. I have found his loss heart breaking, as he really was a one off, and I will always miss him. I will still think, oh Victor would like to see that but he is not there any more. It has been such a pleasure of have known him, and I still cannot get over this huge loss of him from all our lives.

Even though we worked for same company it was not often that we worked side by side, he was more with BA and other widebody aircraft whereas I was on the Airbus and Embraer aircraft it was a pleasure to work with him and after retirement when having coffee at local coffeeshops it was most enjoyable reminiscing about the "good ol' days" at PW, Canadian and finally Air Canada. Will miss Vic and the coffee visits.

One of my favourite coworkers. I was quite saddened when I found out. The writer has gone dark and hopefully to a better place.

I unfortunately hadn’t seen Vic for the past 11 years since leaving Air Canada. Only through coworkers did I ask how he was doing during his retirement. I assisted him many times on British Airways. We actually became close friends through motorcycle rides with our coworkers from Air Canada. I will never forget his willingness to always help anyone who needed it. His sense of humour was awesome. I’ll truly miss Vic. My heartfelt love and compassion for his family as they grieve and reflect on his memory.

Memories of Vic go back a long time for me. We first met somewhere on the banks of the Rhine, touring Europe on our motorbikes and we travelled together for a few days. On his way home he'd stop over and we did biker things, and I'd stay over at Vic's parents house for more of the same. And not just riding motorcycles, Vic once invited me for a ride with him driving one of the local red double decker busses, late at night taking it back to the garage on the empty London streets - fast and spectacular! Good times, special times too when I met his sister Monica and later when Vic was not only a friend but also my brother-in-law and a fine uncle for the children and grandchildren. I was lucky to have him as a friend and will never forget him.

SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT MY FIRST COUSIN.VICTOR I HAD SEEN HIM SINCE 1964 WHEN I LIVED IN LONDON .I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR HIM FOR YEARS .VICTOR. REST IN PEACE.SO SORRY I NEVER GOT TO TALK TO YOU .
