Wilfrid was preceded by his parents, Emile and Hermine Bertrand, his brother, Adrien Bertrand, sisters, Georgette Schmidt and Emilienne Weed, brother-in-laws, Maynard and Denis, and son-in-law, Gord. Wilfrid also lost his loving wife, Jennie, 32 years ago and three precious daughters: Cecile, Yvette and Emily. Wilfrid leaves behind in his passing his sisters, Simone Kuckartz and Marie Nobert, and sister- in- law, Elva Bertrand (and their families). His son, Roger (Marjorie), and their five children, twelve grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, son-in-law, Dennis Waldenberger, and his three children and four grandchildren, son-in-law, Robert Waldenberger, and his two children, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, daughters, Yvonne Werner, Annette Yanoshewski and her two children, and one grandchild, son, Emile(Fawn) and their four children, and seven grandchildren, and daughter, Marie (Shane) Astrope and their two children, and six grandchildren, and numerous friends and acquaintances of the families.
Wilfrid’s early days consisted of working on the family farm and as time went on he also became pretty handy at being a handy man as a sideline to generate extra money for the family. He also travelled south of the border to do custom combining. He married the love of his life (Jennie Moldovan) at the age of 18 on October 1, 1945 and resided in Lafleche where they started a family. They then moved to Regina and by this time dad was a seasoned carpenter and got a job as a job superintendent and oversaw numerous major builds in Regina and surrounding areas. The family also flourished in Regina, ending up with eight children, two boys and six girls, which included two sets of twins. His home on 10th Ave had a garden that would wow any and all that saw it. Lots of parties and fun was had in the house on 10th Ave East. Then in 2008 with his ageing and health deteriorating he moved into Queen Victoria Estates Independent living and two moves later, he called William Booth his home until his passing.
Rest in peace pops, we love you.
