Bergen, Pauline went to be with her Lord June 1, 2014 at the age of 87. Thank you to all the staff at the Valhaven Home in Abbotsford who gave her wonderful loving care. She was predeceased by her father John Stobbe, mother Margaret, stepmother Susie, 10 siblings, 4 sister in-laws, baby son Dennis, and husband Henry.
Pauline was born in Borden Saskatchewan and moved to BC at the age of 3. She married Henry Bergen in 1948 and they raised 4 children. Mom loved photography and decorating her many albums; each child had a special album from birth to the present. She loved to garden and is remembered for her vegetable garden as well as her beautiful roses. She loved to sing and play the Omnicord; mom and dad were both involved in choirs and orchestras for many years. Mom loved to travel; they visited Phil and Lydia in Japan, Dave and Tena Wiebe in Bolivia and made many road trips throughout BC to visit relatives.
She is lovingly remembered by her 4 children: Lydia Hamm (Phil), Gerald Bergen (Rose), Janice Slee (Dave), Mel Bergen (Jean); 4 grandsons: Chris (Kim), Wayne, Kevin (Patty) Hamm, and Caleb Bergen; 4 great grandchildren: Faith, Peter, Rebekah, Allegra Hamm; 7 siblings, 2 foster sisters, 12 in-laws, and a host of wonderful nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts and cousins.
A Memorial service and reception will be held on June 9, Central Heights Church in Abbotsford, at 11 AM.
