BENTLEY, Robert “Bob” Keith

Dec. 12, 1930 – Jan. 28, 2022

Robert “Bob” was born and raised in Calgary and passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022 at the age of 91 years.

He leaves behind his wife, Shirley; son, William (Tannis); daughters, Lynn (Barry), Sandra (Lee) and Cheryl (Kelly). Bob was blessed with eight beautiful grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Besides his love and enjoyment of his family, he had a passion for airplanes.

His hobby was building and flying radio controlled models, and he belonged to two Calgary flying clubs where he greatly enjoyed the companionship. Bob enjoyed a sense of humor and loved to laugh.

Cremation has taken place.

I knew Bob for a number of years through his membership in Airdrie Modellers Aircraft Society aka: AMAS. Bob was always the friendly guy that would always take the time to sit down and discuss what your model was. He would go above and beyond to find resolve to any problems you might have been having. Always pleasant to be around! Nice to have met you and known you, Bob. We'll see you down the road a piece!

I have know Bob for as long as I can remember.. My dad Mads Sorensen always refered to him as Little Brother. He will always hold a special place in my heart. It was an honour to have been a part of his life.

I had the pleasure of flying R/C with Bob for the last 13 years at SCRCMC and was extremely impressed with his vast knowledge of radio control and to still be an active flyer at the young age of 89. His greatest love was building warbirds, loading them in his trailer to bring out for their maiden and subsequent flights. He was a very active club member who always came out to the annual club cleanup and was the first to either have a broom or paint brush in his hands. Bob’s smile and laugh was contagious and will be greatly missed.

We send our deepest sympathy to all of Bob's family. Claude belonged to the same airplane club as Bob. They had many phone calls on how to get the mosquito to fly. I was lucky to have meet Bob a few times and talked on the phone to him if Claude was away. We will remember his laugh. Claude will miss him, his sense of humor and his companionship. May Bob Rest in Peace.
