Viola "Ruth" Beecher

BEECHER, Viola Ruth
December 5, 1941 - March 19, 2016

Ruth passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at age 74, finally succumbing to COPD. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, she spent her adult life in Alberta. In the early 1960s she was one of the first computer operators for the Calgary City Police where she met a young constable by the name of Bob Beecher. They were married December 15, 1962. Bob passed away June 20, 2011.

She is survived by her son, David; daughter, Carolynn (Carol); son-in-law, Kevin Kurytnik; brother, Jim Couzens; and cats, Mattie, Christine, Spook 2, Nik, Nora, and Nelson. The three constants in her life were cats, curling, and cribbage.

A Memorial Celebration will be held at Parkridge Community Hall, 222 Burroughs Circle NE, Calgary, AB on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 1:00 pm.
