Steven Anthony Baron

After a lengthy and hard fought battle with cancer, Steve passed away peacefully in Regina on Friday, August 15, 2014. He was born in Leader, Saskatchewan on May 1, 1962. Steve is survived by his parents Philip and Mona Baron, son Anthony, best friend Pat, siblings Dale (Bev) and their children Jeff (Marissa) and Amanda (Ryan), Marilyn (Wayne) Pittman and their children Jeremy (Monica, children Ariela, Oliver), Rory and Tyler, Dan (Kathy) and their children Kristin (Stephen), Erika (Nolan) and Melissa (Zac) and numerous other relatives and friends.

Steve spent most of his working career in Regina in the home construction industry. He was very skillful in his trade and strived for perfection in all of his endeavours. Steve was proud of the finished product and has left a legacy of his workmanship through the many projects he completed for family and friends.

Steve’s son Anthony was the pride and joy of his life. Steve always made time for him by attending his sporting and school events, guitar lessons, picking up and dropping off friends, and cooking meals for him, even sending care packages to Saskatoon.

Steve loved to laugh and tease and put a smile on everyone’s face. His positive attitude and desire to live was an inspiration for all who knew him. A small private service will be held in honour of Steve’s life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Steve may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

We are very sorry to hear of Steve's passing. We first met Steve when we had our house built by Sthahmann Homes back in 1999, who Steve worked for at the time. We lost touch after that until we got reacquainted through bowling, about 8 years ago. We also spent time together at many golf tournaments and banquets and thoroughly enjoyed his company. He was a very cheerful, easy going guy and always made you laugh and smile even through his battle with cancer and the tough treatments he underwent. It was our hope that he would win his fight with cancer, but, sadly this was not to be. Our sincere condolences to his family. He will be truly missed. His friends Mike and Carol.

We were very saddened to hear of Steve's passing. I have fond memories of 'Zeke' helping me pitch bales out at the farm when we were kids. He had come over with Rick Conn on his motorbike and they were a big help that day. Since then, we had many good times. We will miss him greatly.
