Margaret Theresa Elizabeth "Peggy" Barnes

Margaret Theresa Elizabeth “Peggy” Barnes (nee Wood) let go of her tenacious hold on life and slipped away peacefully on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 in Regina, Saskatchewan at the age of 93 years. Her family was at her side, holding her hands. She is survived by her daughter Louise; granddaughters Carlee and Katie; great-grandchildren Morgan and Dylan; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by her husband Rex; son Rod; her sister Mabel and by many other family members and friends. She was born in Calgary, Alberta, a city she loved. Peggy spent most of her life in Calgary but moved to Regina in 2016 to be near her daughter. Peggy led a long and rich life and her sharp wit, humour and kindness will forever be remembered by those who knew and loved her. She will be missed.

Peggy, I knew you too briefly and too sporadically, but I have a pleasant picture of you in my mind sitting at Louise's table in Duchess (likely one Christmas so long ago). You have a lovely family who will carry your memories and the memory of you in their hearts. Now you know the fullness of the unconditional and powerful love and peace of God - no more fear. Absent from the body, present with the Lord. I look forward to seeing you again one day!
