Harry Andrusiak

On Saturday, May 28, 2022 Harry Andrusiak passed away peacefully at the age of 97 and was reunited with Marie, his wife of 68 years.

He will be lovingly remembered as a selflessly dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. Following a wide range of careers that saw him journey from his childhood home near Preeceville, Saskatchewan, Harry retired as Director of Orthotics at Wascana Rehabilitation Centre in 1989. After retirement, he dedicated his time to his greatest joy – his daughter and her family. Together with Marie, Harry demonstrated grandparenting at its best. Fond memories include daily lunches at their house, daily chauffer service to and from school, sausage-making, fishing stories, gardening, frozen yogurt outings, and his love of solitaire. His work ethic and limitless capacity for caring had an immeasurable impact on those who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Noreen Sax (Tom); grandchildren Mark Sax (Nicole), Rhiannon Hillman (Jarrod), and Allyson Sax (Corey); great-grandchildren Aidan, Anika, Nolan, Ainsley, and Ansen; his sister Alice Richtor; and his many nieces and nephews. His memory will be celebrated privately by family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to DRIFCan (Diabetes Research Institute Foundation Canada), P.O. Box 833 Edmonton Main, Edmonton, Alberta, T5J 2L4.

Holly and I have many fond memories of Uncle Harry. Advice on sausage making, being able to borrow his sausage press. Uncle and Aunty's love, help and support when Dad was convelesing. Our most sincere condolences.

My deepest condolences. I always smile when I think of Marie & Harry. Growing up it was such a privilege to be invited over for lunch. When the lunch bell would ring there would be harry waiting for us in the red car to shuttle us to Marie where hot tomato soup, grilled cheese sandwiches and milk was waiting. After a huge hug from Marie, Harry would say “let’s go girls” and off we went perfectly on time. From lunches, to sport games, to play dates - Harry was always there with a smile and twinkle in his eye. I absolutely cherish all the many memories. May their memory and their endless love and happiness last forever. Much love to you all.

We sadly send out condolences to the family for Uncle Harry and Aunty Marie. Always had a smile for us nieces and Nefews . Always had tea and cookies out, and as mentioned many stories of our Grandma, his sister . And was always eager to hear our latest fishing stories. Always remember Harry and Marie from early days in say 1964.... They had a daughter a year older than I think .... Noreen. They were our neighbours across the alley... We lived on Angus St. Harry was my barber for probably 5 years... on Saturday mornings. Such great memories as they were always fun to visit and get a good cookie too! Ironically we moved in 66... but this time across the front of their house... to Rae St... Still neighbours.... eventually I believed they moved to Motherwell Crescent and my Mom and Dad also moved to South end of Regina where they would run across each other at Southland Mall...I went to school at Holy Rosary with Noreen till Grade 7 or 8... So sorry for your loss Noreen and Family... they were awesome folks...
