Your Dad was like an uncle to me. He lived with us when we first came to Canada.He worked with my Dad on many jobs. As a child I recall many get together with the Heykants clan. My condolences to the family. Henry Zandbeek

My dad was a great man! I admired him emensly. I loved all his passions from flowers to planes and even all his books about life after death and outer body travel. I will miss him more than words can say! RIP Daddy xo

I have many fond memories of your Dad. He was a kind hearted man who loved his family dearly. He had many interests and I am fortunate to have had many conversations with him about those interests. My sincere condolences on this profound loss. Please remember his belief system about passing on to the next level, and take comfort in the knowledge that he has joined your mother and is at peace. What I remember most about "Mr. Akkermans" was his love of plants and his love of peanuts lol. He was a gentle man, full of interesting stories. RIP Marinus. Love to you all. Debbie
