Adolf Kungel

Adolf (Al) Kungel, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on November 26, 2025 in Richmond, BC, one week shy of his 84th birthday. He was born on December 3, 1941 in Poland. His family immigrated to Canada in 1954.

Adolf had strong analytical thinking skills and a natural ability with numbers. He was a respected Accountant who spent 3 decades working for the Richmond School District. He volunteered as Treasurer on various committees and was known for his impeccable bookkeeping skills!

Adolf loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed time near the ocean in Hawaii and at his cottage in Bowser, especially when his family was by his side. He enjoyed watching sports, and took every opportunity he could to attend his grandchildren’s hockey, soccer, baseball and basketball games.

Adolf is survived by his loving wife, Joyce, their children Julie (Danny) and Jamie (Bettina), and grandchildren, Owen, Andrew, Nathan, Leo, Brady and Emma.

A memorial service to celebrate Adolf’s life will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 11:00 am at Richmond Faith Fellowship Church, 11960 Montego Street. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or BC Children’s Hospital
